Between the Drakensberg Mountains and the Kruger National Park on the
banks of the Makutsi River, lies Makutsi Safari Springs.
It is raw African
bush enjoyed by people that appreciate the peace and serenity of nature.
Palms and acacias, elephants, rhinos, giraffe, crocodiles, lions, cheetah,
leopard...bushveld.
Soft thermal-mineral water bubbles from two hot
springs, nestling among indigenous trees.
The food is a healthy variety of
venison specialties, home grown vegetables and home bred beef.
No casino,
no discotheque, a place for the silent minority.
DAY 1 -MAKUTSI SAFARI SPRINGS
A representative from Makutsi Safari Springs will meet
you on arrival into Hoedspruit or Phalaborwa and
transfer you to the lodge. This afternoon you will enjoy
a game drive before dinner being served in the
traditional open air "Lapa". (BD)
DAY 2 - MAKUTSI SAFARI
SPRINGS
Before breakfast your ranger will take you on a morning
game drive in an open safari Land Rover, searching for
rhino, crocodile, elephant, lion, zebra, giraffe,
cheetah, wild dogs and many other smaller creatures. The
famous "Big 5" are all to be found on the Reserve, but
guides are trained to find and enjoy all aspects and
animals of this African bush, big or small. Enjoy a rest
during the heat of the day followed by an afternoon game
drive on the Makutsi Game Reserve. (BD)
DAY 3 -
KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Depart at 5am for a full day’s game viewing in the world
famous Kruger National Park.The game ranger takes
breakfast along, and a stop is made at one of the many
rest areas, where breakfast is served. Then off on more
game exploration until lunchtime,when you stop at one of
the camps located in the National Park. After lunch,
continue on your game drive before returning late in the
afternoon to the lodge. (BD)
DAY 4 - DRAKENSBERG
MOUNTAINS AND BLYDE RIVER CANYON
After breakfast depart for a full day of sightseeing in
the Drakensberg Mountains and Blyde River Canyon. Stops
will be made along the way to take photographs and
marvel at the awesome scenery. You will have the
opportunity today to view and purchase some of the local
curios. Return to Makutsi for dinner. (BD)
DAY 5 - TRIBAL VILLAGE
AND MAKUTSI RAIN FOREST
This morning visit nearby Shangaan and Sotho villages
and learn about traditional culture and how life has
been sustained. After a bush picnic enjoy a two hour
walk through indigenous rain forest to the springs of
the Makutsi River. Return to the lodge in the early
afternoon to relax before dinner. (BD)
DAY 6 - MAKUTSI SAFARI
SPRINGS AT LEISURE
Today enjoy either a morning or afternoon game drive on
the reserve, your last chance to try and find those
elusive animals you may have missed. Spend the rest of
the day at leisure around the mineral pools or hippo
hide. (BD)
DAY 7 - MAKUTSI SAFARI
SPRINGS - HOEDSPRUIT OR PHALABORWA
After breakfast depart for Hoedspruit or Phalaborwa
Airports. (B)
