LUXURY PRIVATE GAME LODGES
GREATER KRUGER -
SOUTH AFRICA
These private game reserves have the big five on their property.
Their major
advantage over the Kruger National Park is that you can go off the track in a 4X4
to get a closer look, without having to compete for viewing space with any other
vehicles.
The accommodation and cuisine is invariably luxurious and all inclusive.

KRUGER NATIONAL PARK The largest National Park in South Africa. Established in 1889, is more than
2 million hectares, and larger than Wales. More than 146 mammal species,
507 bird species and 400 different tree types call this spectacular
"Bushveld" home. It is only five hours drive or an hour’s flight from
Johannesburg. Direct flights are also available from Cape Town, Durban and
Port Elizabeth. Attached to Kruger are a large number of Private Game Reserves,
making the region even larger |

SABI SANDS
GREATER KRUGER- SOUTH AFRICA
Mala Mala is South Africa’s legendary and
exclusive safari destination, adjoining the Kruger
National Park.
Internationally acknowledged as "the top game viewing
destination in the world", it is set in beautiful
surroundings on the banks of the Sand River.
The focus of the Mala Mala safaris continues to reflect
the ethos of the reserve over the past forty years –
game viewing.
Sound conservation management has ensured an
environmental sanctuary for an impressive density and
diversity of wildlife.
MALA MALA MAIN CAMP
The ochre coloured buildings are clustered amid shady
trees and manicured lawns overlooking the Sand River.
The individually decorated, spacious and comfortable
rooms under traditional thatching, enjoy spectacular
views. Despite the comfort offered, MalaMala retains an
authentic camp atmosphere. Dinner is served in the grand
old African manner, under the stars in a reed enclosed
boma - a MalaMala tradition for over 60 years. Seated
around a log fire, under the starry African sky,
enjoying superb food and outstanding South African wines
is yet another highlight of the MalaMala experience. The
luxury and comfort of the camp, combined with
exhilarating game drives and guided walks in beautiful
unspoilt wilderness dramatised by the close encounters
with Africa’s game, big and small, is incomparable.
SABLE CAMP
Situated at the southern end of the MalaMala Camp in a
prime elevated position overlooking the Sand River and
surrounding bush, the Sable Camp is an ideal retreat for
the more reclusive traveller who prefers privacy and
exclusivity. The fully airconditioned, beautifully
appointed Sable Camp has a truly colonial feel enhanced
with modern comforts. A library with satellite
television and internet connectivity give one the option
to stay in touch with the world whilst the intimate
safari bar, swimming pool and large wooden deck
surrounding the camp provide the platform from which to
admire the unimpeded views that make the Sable Camp
experience so rich and interactive. The Sable Camp does
not accommodate children under the age of 12, unless the
entire camp is reserved exclusively at the respective
charge.
RATTRAY’S ON MALA MALA
Rattray’s on MalaMala represents a classical "into
Africa" safari experience in keeping with MalaMala’s
history of presenting an authentic view of wildlife in
Africa to the discerning traveller. Facilities within
the main elegant building incorporate a viewing deck, an
air-conditioned library, an attractive bar showcasing
the history of the area and an adjoining wine cellar
stocked with a wide range of South Africa’s best wines.
With a maximum of 4 guests per safari vehicle this
wildlife wonderland unfolds. Sightings of the Big Five
and the interactions of the various species along the
food chain from ants to elephants provide visitors with
a glimpse of Africa as it has always been. Rattray’s
does not accommodate children under the age of 16 years.
