KARIEGA GAME RESERVE
This malaria-free, "Big 5" private game reserve
is set in 6000ha of pristine wilderness bordered
by the picturesque Kariega and Bushman's Rivers,
just 10 minutes from Kenton-on-Sea and 80
minutes from Port Elizabeth.
Situated in the heart of 1820 Settler Country,
the reserve is a natural extension to a trip
along the famous Garden Route. Kariega Game
Reserve offers a combination of "Big 5" game
viewing in a landscape that spans across 5
different eco-systems, (valley bushveld,
savannah grasslands, fynbos, riverine forest and
acacia woodland) offering the most dramatic
views and vistas, and expansive variety of
fauna, flora and bird life.

viewing from open vehicles with qualified

vehicles with experienced Game Rangers, Kariega is unique in
its offering of safe walking close to abundant game and
birdlife and a diversity of activities which include river
cruises, canoeing, swimming in beautiful river pools and
visits to the nearby golden beaches of Kenton-on-Sea.
Kariega prides itself in the abundance of general game and
birdlife supplementing the "Big-5". Wonderful sightings of
Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino, Hippo, Hyena, Giraffe, Zebra
and numerous antelope species can be enjoyed in addition to
resident Martial, Crowned and Fish Eagles.
