Charles Bench is the founder and CEO of the
company and his exposure to the magical product ``Africa``
came during a spell in London with South African Airways.
He put together their first Holiday Brochure and the
associated marketing campaign. Whilst not an instant
success it became the foundation stone on which many
subsequent programmes were based and was for Charles
a great learning exercise.
By the time he had arrived in Australia to set up his
business he had already paddled through Botswana’s
Okavango Delta – a pretty rare thing to do in
those days, and canoed the Zambezi and driven all around
South Africa inspecting hotels and tourism attractions.
Charles has been back well over 150 times and still
does his hotel inspections – and still hates the
repetition of looking at so many hotel rooms!
He also puts our brochures together, does all the
buying, sets up the contracts with the ground handlers
and designs the itineraries – and loves doing
it!
