Experience the fascinating world of Africa’s culture and wildlife with this safari offering an insight into the local Maasai people. Your two-night stay at Satao Elerai near Amboseli National Park will give you the opportunity to experience a property which is genuinely involved in working with the Maasai community for the long term benefit of the Maasai and the wildlife in the Amboseli eco system. The lodge provides a sustainable income from tourism for the Maasai community and tries to ensure that it is in the community’s interest to protect the wildlife for generations to come.

Amboseli has been a location where human-wildlife conflict has been an issue for many years, and it is projects like these that can over time ensure that communities start to benefit from wildlife tourism and to ensure they invest in protecting and securing their future for their own benefit.

The safari also visits Tsavo West National Park where you will experience the highlights of Mzima Springs and Shetani Lava flow both remnants of the eruption of Kilimanjaro, and Tsavo East National Park where Elephants can be seen in huge numbers at close quarters.

Day 1: Nairobi

Arrive in the capital city of Nairobi where you will be met and taken to The Panafric Hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park

This morning drive to Satao Elerai, offering 12 luxury tented rooms, and located in a quiet, unspoilt, unique setting on a 5,000 acre private conservation area close to Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, it is arguably the best location of any camp in Amboseli. This afternoon enjoy a guided bush walk with a Masai followed by a bush sundowner and night game drive in a 4x4 vehicle. Dinner and overnight at Satao Elerai. (BLD)

Day 3: Amboseli National Park

After breakfast drive into the National Park for game viewing and picnic lunch, followed by a visit to the local community village and school. Dinner and overnight at Satao Elerai. (BLD)

Day 5: Tsavo West National Park

Enjoy early morning and late afternoon game drives in a 4x4 vehicle exploring Tsavo West National Park. At the heart of Tsavo West lies Mzima Springs. Rain from the nearby Chyulu Hills soaks into the sponge - like ash and percolates down until it hits impervious bedrock and begins its underground journey to Mzima Springs some 40 kms away. Filtered over many years, the pure water creates an oasis for hippos and crocodiles. Dinner and overnight at Severin Safari Camp. (BLD)

Day 6: Tsavo West National Park – Tsavo East National Park

With 20 tented rooms nestled amongst trees and surrounding a central waterhole, the semi-circular layout of the camp provides an excellent viewing point for each guest. Satao Camp is really known for the amazingly close encounters with elephants, impala and water buck that occur within the camp. Dinner and overnight at Satao Camp. (BLD)
