A South African icon since its inception in 1946, with a personal butler service and luxurious suite accommodation, the Blue Train offers a rail journey not to be missed. Travelling along the historic route between Pretoria and Cape Town experience in style and comfort the spectacular scenery enroute.
This morning between 0750 – 0830 hours please proceed to Pretoria Station for register and check in at the Blue Train Lounge. Guests will enjoy pre departure snacks and drinks. At 0830 hours boarding will start where the butlers will usher the guests to their suites. At 0850 hours the Blue train will depart from Pretoria Station. 1030-1230 hours first sitting for brunch, followed by the second sitting at 1230-1430 hours. High tea is then served in the lounge car at 1530 hours. At 1710 hours the Blue Train arrives at Kimberley Station. Guests disembark and assemble at the railway museum, from where they will be ushered to a bus, which transfers them to the Kimberley Open Mine Museum. At 1835 hours Guests depart from the Open Mine Museum for Kimberley Station. At Kimberley Station guests are greeted with a glass of sherry. The sherry glass engraved with The Blue Train logo is a memento for guests to keep. At 1905 hours the Blue Train departs Kimberley Station for the journey southbound to Cape Town. After this exciting tour, guests are free to refresh themselves and enjoy pre-dinner drinks served at any one of our lounges. Remember, dinner is an elegant affair and men are requested to wear a jacket and tie and ladies elegant evening wear. 1930 hours first sitting for dinner followed by the second sitting at 2115 hours. This morning between 0730-1000 hours breakfast is served on a first come first serve basis. Breakfast can also be served in-suite at the guests’ request. At 1200 hours the Blue Train arrives at Cape Town Station where the butler ushers guests to the Blue Train Lounge. (B)
