Journey along the tranquil waters between Luxor and Aswan on board a cruise boat for three nights or longer with stops enroute at the many historical temples and monuments, passing local villages and taking a glimpse at the local life which has not changed too much over time.

Day 1: Cairo

On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Mena House Oberoi for overnight.

Day 2: Pyramids, Memphis & Sakkara

Today enjoy a privately guided full day tour with your Egyptologist to the ancient capital Memphis and burial ground of Sakkara, located 24kms south-west of Cairo. After lunch at a traditional restaurant visit the Pyramids of Giza, considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and the mysterious Sphinx, carved from a single block of stone. Day 3: Cairo to Luxor

Transfer to the airport for flight to Luxor, and on arrival transfer to the all-suite Amarco II Cruise boat for your 6-night cruise along the River Nile. After lunch visit the Temples of Karnak and Luxor built by generations of Pharaohs and dedicated to the God Amun. Dinner and overnight on the Amarco II Nile Cruise. (BLD)

Day 4: Valley of the Kings & Queens

This morning visit the West Bank to visit the Necropolis of Thebes and explore the burial grounds in the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Lunch is taken back on board with an afternoon at leisure while the boat sails to Edfu. Dinner and overnight on Amarco II Nile Cruise. (BLD)

Day 5: Edfu

Today visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu, the largest and most preserved Greek-built temple. Sail to Aswan via Kom Ombo with lunch, dinner and overnight on board Amarco II Nile Cruise. (BLD)

Day 6: Aswan

Enjoy a morning at leisure before sailing in a felucca around Kitchener’s Island and the Aga Khan Mausoleum. Dinner and overnight on board Amarco II Nile Cruise. (BLD)

Day 7: Aswan to Kom Ombo

This morning visit the High Dam, Philae Temple and Unfinished Obelisk before sailing to Kom Ombo. Overnight on board Amarco II Nile Cruise. (BLD)

Day 8: Kom Ombo

Morning at leisure and a visit after lunch to the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile-god Sobek, where in ancient times sacred crocodiles basked on the banks of the River Nile. Overnight on board Amarco II Nile Cruise. (BLD)

Day 9: Luxor to Cairo

Day 10: Egyptian Museum & Old Cairo

Today enjoy a privately guided full day tour with your Egyptologist to the Egyptian Museum and Old Cairo with its Citadel, Mosque and the ancient bazaar of Khan-el-Khalili. Lunch will be taken at a traditional restaurant. Overnight: Cairo Marriott. (BL)
