Serengeti Walking Safaris

Experience true wilderness areas on a walking safari in the Serengeti National Park where few people are allowed to venture on foot, and camp amongst the wildlife. This trip allows for three days on foot combined with vehicle based game viewing, and visits to the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and Ol’Duvai Gorge.

Day 1: Arusha – Ngorongoro Crater

Depart by road for the Ngorongoro Conservation area and enjoy an afternoon walk on the crater of the rim with a Masai and conservation guide. Dinner and overnight at a lodge near the Ngorongoro Crater. (LD)

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater - Serengeti National Park

Morning game drive in the crater before driving to the Serengeti via Ol’Duvai Gorge. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Wilderness Camp. (BLD)

Day 3: Serengeti National Park

Enjoy a full day of game drives in the Serengeti. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Wilderness Camp. (BLD)

Days 4 & 5: Serengeti National Park

Walking safari with trained walking guide and armed National Parks guide. Dinner and overnight at Lightweight Walking Camp. (BLD)

Day 6: Serengeti National Park

Enjoy a morning walking safari before returning to main camp. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Wilderness Camp. (BLD)

Day 7: Serengeti National Park – Arusha

Transfer to the airstrip for a scenic flight to Arusha. (BL)

Parc National Des Volcans is home to over half of the regions surviving 650 mountain gorillas and was immortalised in the film "Gorillas in the Mist", the biographical account of primatologist Dian Fossey which was set and shot in the park.
