The Serengeti National Park, the largest in Tanzania and most famous in this region, is well renowned for the annual migration of the wildebeest, large numbers of lion and cheetah, together with herds of giraffe and zebra on the trek between here and the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya.

The word “Safari” means “journey” in Kiswahili but since the days of the legendary “White Hunters” a “Safari” has evolved to mean a spectacular bush adventure that takes in sightings of a glorious selection of game, flora, fauna and bird life whilst delivering awe inspiring scenery, show-stopping views and wildlife encounters of the most exciting kind.

Kirawira Serena Luxury Camp is located at the far end of Western Serengeti, atop a hill with sweeping views of the surrounding plains, with 25 spacious tents, raised on wooden platforms with a personal valet, this is an exclusive experience. The essentially colonial ambiance of the elegant tented rooms evokes colourful memories of the famous safaris of days gone by. In keeping with the theme of colonial opulence, the elegant dining tents feature Edwardian-styled furniture, crisp-starched napery, delicate china and silverware.

Parc National Des Volcans is home to over half of the regions surviving 650 mountain gorillas and was immortalised in the film "Gorillas in the Mist", the biographical account of primatologist Dian Fossey which was set and shot in the park. The chain of 4,570 metre volcanoes stretching through Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, affords wonderful views of the volcanoes and the surrounding countryside and is the place to experience the most intimate and poignant of wildlife encounters.
