Day 1: Marrakech - Zagora

The drive this morning will be along one of the most beautiful roads in Morocco, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Enjoy breathtaking sceneries of the small local villages along lush valleys all the way to the pre-Saharan regions where you will stop to explore the beautiful U.N.E.S.C.O. protected Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Travel via the city of Ouarzazate and head south towards the Saharan mountain ranges where the terrain slowly becomes barren with interesting geological formations and canyons. In Agdez, which was the resting place on the old caravan route linking Marrakech to Timbuktu, you will drive along the valley inhabited by a mixture of Berber, Arab and African people. Overnight in Zagora at hotel Palais Asmaa. (LD)

Day 2: Zagora – Merzouga

Leave Zagora and cross the beautiful oasis of the Draa Valley for the long journey across the Desert of Jebel Sahro. Stop for lunch in Alnif before heading towards the legendary Saharan town of Rissani, from where camel caravans started their long journeys across the desert. Visit some of the historical sites before continuing to the edge of the desert in Merzouga where the Saharan sand dunes begin. Here you can take a camel ride across the dunes and enjoy the breathtaking sunset. Overnight at a private desert camp. (BLD)

Day 3: Merzouga – Boumalne Dades

After breakfast, drive across the Saharan plains to the marvellous Valley of Todgha, considered to be one of the most beautiful in the south of Morocco. A lush green oasis, it runs along a beautiful deep valley inhabited by Berber people in kasbahs and villages. Enjoy a walk along the spectacular gorges and stop for lunch. This afternoon, continue to the valley of Dades and the town of Boumalne. Overnight in Boumalne Dades at hotel Xaluca Dades. (BLD)

Day 4: Boumalne Dades - Marrakech

Today start the day early with the sunrise over the Dades Valley and the amazing rock formations. This region is known as the “Valley of Roses” due to the generations of locals who have planted roses for the perfume production. Travel back to Marrakech via the city of Ouarzazate and the Atlas Mountains. (BL)
