Main Camp offers 19 ochre coloured, spacious rooms and suites under thatch, set amid huge trees and rolling green lawns overlooking the Sand River. Dinners are served under the stars in traditional African manner. Children of all ages are welcome.

The region, larger than many independent countries, is home to the largest concentrations of free roaming elephant, lion, rhino, leopard, buffalo, cheetah, and literally hundreds of other species of wild mammal.  Today this area is known to have the greatest diversification of animal species on the African continent. Over two hundred different species occur in abundance, whilst the ever changing bird life provides even the most experienced ornithologist with rare finds.

Day 1: Mpumalanga (KMIA) Airport - Sabi Sand Game Reserve

At Mpumalanga (KMIA) Airport you will be met and transferred by road to Mala Mala. On arrival at Mala Mala, guests are introduced to their ranger who acts as host, guide and educator. While an itinerary is suggested (as detailed below) to take advantage of the more comfortable temperature ranges and the enhanced game viewing opportunities, it is also important to have time to relax and enjoy the camp surroundings, and to immerse oneself in the environment. Dinner and overnight Mala Mala. (LD)

Day 2: Sabi Sand Game Reserve

Full day of game activities in the game reserve with all meals. A day at MalaMala Game Reserve, no matter your choice of camp, combines exhilarating game viewing opportunities with a chance to relax and refresh the soul. Game drives are conducted in open 4-wheel drive safari vehicles in the 40,000 acre private reserve. The rangers are in constant radio communication with one another to keep each other informed about the location of wildlife. Headsets are used for this purpose so as not to interrupt the sounds of the African bush. The 4-wheel drive safari vehicles enable the rangers to leave the road and provide guests with close up game viewing and fantastic photographic opportunities. Night drives, with the aid of powerful spotlights, bring the bush to life at night. The suggested itineraries are not set in stone. Guests are encouraged to discuss their preferences with their ranger on arrival, and all possible will be done to accommodate them within the confines of the camp routine, and with consideration to safari companions sharing the same ranger and vehicle (although not all requests are possible or advisable). Overnight at Mala Mala. (BLD)
