Palms and acacias, elephants, rhinos, giraffe, crocodiles, lions, cheetah, leopard and bushveld. Soft thermal-mineral water bubbles from two hot springs, nestling among indigenous trees. The food is a healthy variety of venison specialties, home grown vegetables and home bred beef. No casino, no disco, a place for the silent minority.

Day 1: Makutsi Safari Springs

A representative from Makutsi Safari Springs will meet you on arrival into Hoedspruit or Phalaborwa airport and transfer you to the lodge. Enjoy an afternoon of relaxing and getting to know the camp and mineral springs. Dinner will be served in the traditional open air ‘Lapa’. (D)

Day 2: Makutsi Safari Springs

Before breakfast your ranger will take you on a morning game drive in an open safari Land Rover, searching for rhino, crocodile, elephant, lion, zebra, giraffe, cheetah, wild dogs and many other smaller creatures. The famous "Big 5" are all to be found on the Reserve, but guides are trained to find and enjoy all aspects and animals of this African bush, big or small. Enjoy a rest during the heat of the day followed by an afternoon game drive on the Makutsi Game Reserve. (BD)

Day 3: Kruger National Park

Depart early morning for a full day’s game viewing in the world famous Kruger National Park. The game ranger takes breakfast along, and a stop is made at one of the many rest areas, where breakfast is served. Then off on more game exploration until lunchtime, when you stop at one of the camps located in the National Park. After lunch, continue on your game drive before returning late in the afternoon to the lodge. (BD)

Day 4: Drakensberg Mountains & Blyde River Canyon

After breakfast depart for a full day of sightseeing in the Drakensberg Mountains and Blyde River Canyon. Stops will be made along the way to take photographs and marvel at the awesome scenery. You will have the opportunity today to view and purchase some of the local curios. Return to Makutsi for dinner. (BD)

Day 5: Sekororo Tribal Village

This morning visit nearby Sotho villages and learn about traditional culture and how life has been sustained. Today gives you a good idea of what a local tribal village looks like. The excursion is authentic, nothing is set up for tourists, this is real life. Along the way a light picnic will be served. Return to the lodge in the early afternoon to relax before dinner. (BD)

Day 6: Makutsi Safari Springs

Enjoy your third open vehicle game drive on the reserve, either early morning or this afternoon. For the remainder of the day, enjoy relaxing in the pools, reading on your terrace or visiting the Hippo Hide. Let Africa take care of you. (BD)

Day 7: Makutsi Safari Springs

After breakfast depart for Hoedspruit or Phalaborwa Airports. (B)
