Sleeping under the African stars, listening to the singing of Samburu warriors, riding camels and horses, hiking with Maasai, together with wildlife encounters along the way, you will experience Kenya like never before.
Fly from Nairobi to Laikipia and drive to Tumaren, north of Nanyuki, a place rich in wildlife. Camels, the team and camp, located on the Ewaso Nyiro River, greet you on arrival with cool drinks and lunch. This evening take a guided walk and enjoy sundowners. (LD)
This morning walk downstream to Nambor Camp, an area popular with elephants and plains game. (BLD)
Today walk downstream into the drier hilly country where the river cuts through a gorge and rushes through great rocks. Camp will be at Leshashi, under the shady Tortillis trees by some rapids. (BLD)
Continue walking downstream passing occasional local Samburu herds coming down to drink and as the area is frequented by elephants, there may be the opportunity to get up close to them. Arrive at Nagaratat Camp for lunch and afternoon of relaxation. (BLD)
Today walk further downstream. The landscape is spectacular and camp for the next two nights will be at Namasaa, under some enormous trees, near to the hippo pools. (BLD)
Wake up early and walk to the pinnacle, Ngai Suisui, with a dramatic 360 degree view of the area, and a nesting site for a pair of eagles. Enjoy breakfast on the rock before returning to camp to relax during the heat of the day. (BLD)
On the final day say goodbye to the camels, transfer to Nanyuki and fly back to Nairobi (B)
