The ambience and cultural heritage distance it from the rest of Egypt, although it is only 225kms from Cairo.

In Cairo travel through time to an ancient civilization while enjoying the comforts of a truly cosmopolitan city. The skyline mixes minarets and palm trees with art deco buildings and modern architecture and is regarded as one of the friendliest cities in the world.

Day 1: Alexandria

On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Sheraton Montazah Hotel for overnight.

Day 2: Alexandria

Today enjoy a privately guided full day tour with your Egyptologist to the Catacombs of Kom el-Shouqafa, ancient tombs tunnelled in the second century AD, followed by a visit to the National Museum located in a restored palace. After lunch at a traditional restaurant, the tour continues to the Citadel, Ancient Library and beautiful Gardens and Villa of Antoniadis. Overnight: Sheraton Montazah Hotel. (BL)

Day 3: Alexandria to Siwa Oasis

This morning you will travel towards Siwa, passing through El Alamein with a visit to the WW11 Museum and War memorial. Lunch is taken in Marsa Matrough in a local fish restaurant, before continuing to Siwa Oasis. Overnight at Siwa Shali Resort. (BLD)

Day 4: Siwa Oasis

This morning guided tour will include visits to the old city, the tombs of Gabal el Mawta, the Temple of Oracles, visited by Alexander the Great and Cleopatra’s Spring. After lunch at a local restaurant drive out into the desert before returning to the hotel for dinner and overnight. (BLD)

Day 5: Siwa Oasis to Cairo

This morning after breakfast you will journey by road to Cairo and overnight at the Mena House Oberoi Hotel. (B)

Day 6: Cairo

Today enjoy a privately guided full day tour with your Egyptologist to the Pyramids, Sphinx and Egyptian Museum. Lunch will be taken at a traditional restaurant. Overnight: Mena House Oberoi Hotel. (BL)

Day 7: Cairo
