Day 1: Cape Town

On arrival at Cape Town Airport you will be met and transferred to your Hotel. Day 2: Cape Town

This afternoon you will be collected from your hotel for your half day City and Table Mountain Tour. This tour includes: Table Mountain by cable car (weather permitting) – own expense, City Centre, Castle of Good Hope, South African Museum, The Company Gardens, Bo Kaap Traditional Malay Quarter, Victoria & Alfred Waterfront (South Africa’s most visited attraction). Day 3: Cape Town

This morning you will be collected from your hotel for your full day Cape Point and Peninsular Tour. This tour is an unforgettable journey to the wonderful meeting place of the two great oceans, breathtaking scenic beauty contrasts with the harsh rugged conditions of the most south-westerly edge of the African Continent. This tour includes: Clifton beaches, Hout Bay & Mariners’ Wharf Boat ride to view seals (optional), Chapman's Peak Drive (if open)/ Ou Kaapse Weg, Cape Point & Nature Reserve, Penguin colony at the Boulders, Historic Simon's Town, Groot Constantia Wine Estate OR Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Day 4: Luxury Train Journey

This morning after breakfast you will be met and transferred to Cape Town Station for your Luxury Rail Journey – Rovos Rail. For many visitors to South Africa, there is no finer way to see the country than on the popular 48-hour weekly journeys between Pretoria and Cape Town. This 1600-kilometre journey is a perfect illustration of South Africa as a world in one country. Travel the grasslands of the gold rich Highveld to the haunting barrenness of the Great Karoo. Trundle through the spectacular mountain ranges and scenic wine lands of the Cape. Journey’s end is Cape Town, the Mother City of South Africa, cradled by the imposing bulk of Table Mountain, Devil’s Peak and Lions Head. Highlights of the north and southbound routes include a visit to the historic village of Matjiesfontein. This authentic perfectly preserved Victorian Village, which was founded by Mr Logan as a refreshment stop in 1890, also boasts an impressive museum on the platform. A stop is also made in Kimberley providing an opportunity to enjoy a city tour and a visit to the Mine Museum and the world’s largest man-made excavation, the Big Hole. Day 5: Luxury Train Journey

Upon arrival in Kimberley at 14h30 take the electric tram from the City centre for a tour of the Big Hole and museum. (BLD)

Day 6: Johannesburg

Arrive at Rovos Rail's Capital Park Station, Pretoria at approximately 12h00. On arrival at Pretoria Station you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Situated in Johannesburg's most exclusive residential suburb, The Westcliff's hillside setting with cascading, sculpted gardens and elegantly opulent accommodation evoke a bygone era of leisure and refinement in one of the world's most vibrant cities. Day 7: Sabi River

This morning after breakfast you will be met and transferred to Johannesburg Airport for your onward flight to Mpumalanga (this flight is an additional cost). On arrival at Mpumalanga Airport you will be met and transferred to your Tinga Camp. Tinga Private Game Lodge is situated on the banks of the Sabie River, in the prime game-viewing area of the Kruger National Park. The Sabie River has the highest recorded density of leopards in Africa, and one of the highest predator densities. The Sabie River is also said to have the richest biodiversity of any South African river, with many endangered and rare species (mammals, birds, reptiles and plants) being found in the area. Accommodation: 2 nights at Tinga Camp (either Legends or Narina) including all meals and game viewing activities. (BLD)

Day 8: Sabi River

Full day of game activities as outlined below in the game reserve with all meals. The activities programme has been developed to enhance the guest’s safari experience by enabling the guest to tailor-make their stay with us. The activities are all offered in a flexible and convenient environment. Safaris are conducted in open vehicles, in the early morning and late afternoon. Drives are usually 3 hours in duration depending on game viewing and weather conditions. Early morning drives usually stop for refreshments in the middle of the drive. Afternoon drives usually stop for sundowners at a scenic spot (where possible) before proceeding with a night drive. Although the safaris have a strong focus on finding the larger game, attention is also given to the smaller animals, birdlife, vegetation. As an ecotourism destination, it is important to ensure that guests are given a total bush experience. In keeping with the Kruger National Parks policy on open vehicle safaris, no children under six years of age are permitted on a safari. (BLD)

Day 9: Livingstone

This morning after breakfast and a game drive you will be transferred to Mpumalanga Airport for your onward flight to Livingstone (this flight is an additional cost). On arrival at Livingstone Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The Royal Livingstone is a serene and gracious refuge from the heat of the African sun. The 173 luxurious rooms with their comfortable furnishings are tastefully decorated in the soft earth tones of the bushveld, with spreading views of the river and Acacia forest. Guests may pass lazy days on the magnificent sun deck overlooking the Zambezi as it flows relentlessly to the Falls, and enjoy fine dining in the restaurant or on the long verandah overlooking the gardens. Day 10: Livingstone

Today you will enjoy a 15-minute scenic helicopter flight: You will be met at Royal Livingstone to start your scenic helicopter flight. Discover the magnificence of the Victoria Falls on a helicopter flight of angels as it takes you over the Zambezi River and onwards to the Victoria Falls. Circle over the Falls and the islands. As you return to Maramba Aerodrome you may be lucky enough to spot some game in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. RATE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE. After the experience you will be dropped off at Royal Livingstone. (B)

Day 11: Johannesburg

This morning after breakfast you will be met and transferred to Livingstone Airprot for your onward flight to Johannesburg (this flight is an additional cost). On arrival at Johannesburg Airport please take the courtesy airport shuttle to the Emperor’s Palace. The D'oreale Grande Hotel embraces grand luxury on an intimate scale. Day 12: Nairobi

This morning after check out take the courtesy airport shuttle to Johannesburg Airport for your onward flight to Nairobi (this flight is an additional cost). On arrival at Nairobi Airport you will be met and transferred to your Hotel. Fairmont Norfolk Hotel has played a leading role in Kenya's colourful history, and continues to be Nairobi's finest and best-known hotel. The town and later the modern city of Nairobi grew up around Fairmont The Norfolk hotel, which still has its own private tropical gardens. The hotel is still the traditional starting point for safaris and the Lord Delamere Terrace is modern Nairobi's most famous meeting place, where drinks and light meals are served continuously from morning until midnight. Day 13: Aberdares National Park

After breakfast you will drive to the Ark. Lunch at Outspan followed by an afternoon game drive in the Park. Set in the heart of the Aberdare National Park, this unique game lodge overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick, which attracts a host of wildlife. The Ark Attractions: Resembling and named after Noah's Ark, The Ark comprises three decks from which numerous balconies and lounges provide superb vantage points for game viewing. A ground level bunker provides excellent photographic opportunities and takes you closer than you would believe possible to the animals such as elephant, rhino, leopard, bushbuck and occasionally an elusive bongo or giant forest hog. Day 14: Lake Nakuru Game Reserve

After breakfast drive to Lake Nakuru and arrive in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive in the Park, which is known for its flamingos and pelicans. The park also boasts over 30 rhinos as well as a large population of leopard. Flamingo Hill Camp is small and exclusive, comprising 25 tents. The tents are furnished with the understated luxury required by the modern traveler. Decorated in calming safari tones, natural woods, wrought iron and crisp cottons each tent has been meticulously planned to maximise comfort. Day 15: Masai Mara Game Reserve

Early morning game drive before breakfast. Breakfast at the Camp followed by another game drive and drive to Lake Naivasha for lunch at Naivasha Simba Lodge. After Lunch transfer to Loldia Airstrip for afternoon flight to the Masai Mara 15h20/16h00. On arrival in the Masai Mara and enjoy an afternoon game drive. Surrounded on three sides by the Mara River, and on the edge of the world’s Seventh “New” Wonder of the World – the Masai Mara - Fairmont Mara Safari Club is the epitome of tented luxury. Day 16: Masai Mara Game Reserve

Spend the whole day game viewing in the Masai Mara. The reserve offers an experience you will remember for the rest of your life. The large concentration of game has earned a reputation as the most prolific game viewing in Africa. (BLD)

Day 17: Cairo

Enjoy a morning game drive before breakfast. After breakfast transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi (11h00/12h15). Connect with a flight to Cairo (this flight is an additional cost). Egypt, land of the pyramids and pharaohs, mysterious tombs and temples, and more than 5,000 years of history. One of the most spectacular sightseeing destinations in the world.On arrival at Cairo International airport you will be met and assisted through immigration and customs. Transfer by air-conditioned deluxe vehicle to your hotel. This palatial hotel in the shadow of the Great Pyramids in Cairo has enchanted guests since 1869. Day 18: Cairo

Full day sightseeing: Pyramids, Sphinx, Sakkara and Memphis with lunch. Pyramids: Your private English-speaking Egyptologist will meet you at the hotel this morning to escort you on an unforgettable tour to the Great Pyramids of Giza. The only present-day survivors of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, they are among the world’s greatest tourist attractions and never lose their ability to inspire and overwhelm visitors. Sphinx: Enter the temple of the mysterious Sphinx, an ancient figure shrouded in legend and mystery. Your Egyptologist will enthrall you with the tales told of this fascinating figure. Lunch at Swiss restaurant. Sakkara: Complete your tour with your private English-speaking Egyptologist to an unforgettable tour of the city of Memphis and the necropolis of Sakkara. At vast Sakkara, you will see the famous Step Pyramid of King Zoser, the first freestanding stone structure in the world. Day 19: Cairo

Full day sightseeing Museum, Citadel & Khan El Khalili with lunch. Museum: This morning, your Egyptologist will escort you on a tour of 7,000 years of Egyptian history with a visit to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which includes the world-famous golden treasures from King Tutankhamen‘s tomb. Islamic Cairo: This morning, take a fascinating tour of Islamic Cairo, including the beautiful and graceful Mohamed Ali Mosque and the ancient Citadel, a spectacular medieval fortress perched on a hill above the city. Originally built by Salah El-Din in 1176 to fortify the city against the Crusaders, the Citadel was modified and enlarged over the centuries by subsequent rulers and today is a complex of three mosques and four museums. Lunch at Swiss restaurant. Khan El-Khalili Bazaar: Proceed to the fascinating Khan El-Khalili Bazaar – reputed to be the largest bazaar in the Middle East. Originally founded as a watering stop for caravanserai in the 14th century, the bazaar has now grown to vast proportions. (BL)

Day 20: Luxor

This morning after breakfast you will be met and transferred to Cairo Airport for your onward flight to Luxor. On arrival at Luxor Airport you will be met and transferred to your Hotel. Day 21: Nile Cruise

This morning after breakfast you will be met and transferred to your Nile Cruise in Luxor. Like All Sonesta Nile Cruises, Star Goddess is no exception. Day 23: Nile Cruise

Day 24: Nile Cruise

Breakfast is served from 06h00 – 07h00. At 07h00 visit Kom Ombo Temple, before sailing to Aswan at 08h00. After lunch visit the High Dam, the Granite Quarries and the Temple of Philae. Enjoy afternoon tea before some downtime, dinner and a Nubian Folkloric Show. (BLD)

Day 25: Nile Cruise

Breakfast is served at 07h00. Disembark the Nile Cruise at 08h00 for your flight to Abu Simbel. On arrival at Abu Simbel you will be met by your English-speaking guide for your private tour. Not only are the two temples at Abu Simbel among the most magnificent monuments in the world but their removal and reconstruction was an historic event in itself. When the temples (280 km from Aswan) were threatened by submersion in Lake Nasser, due to the construction of the High Dam, the Egyptian Government secured the support of UNESCO and launched a world wide appeal. During the salvage operation which began in 1964 and continued until 1968, the two temples were dismantled and raised over 60 meters up the sandstone cliff where they had been built more than 3,000 years before. Here they were reassembled, in the exact same relationship to each other and the sun, and covered with an artificial mountain. Most of the joins in the stone have now been filled by antiquity experts, but inside the temples it is still possible to see where the blocks were cut. You can also go inside the man made dome and see an exhibition of photographs showing the different stages of the massive removal project. After your tour join your flight back to Cairo via Aswan. On arrival at Cairo Domestic Airport you will be met and transferred to Cairo International Airport for your onward flight. (B)
