Day 1: Johannesburg - Tuli Block

An early morning departure from Johannesburg takes us via Pretoria and through the Limpopo Province into Botswana via the Platjan border post. We proceed to the area known as the Tuli Block. This thin strip of land in the southeast of Botswana, borders Zimbabwe to the north and South Africa to the south. We will head off for a game drive either in the evening of day 1 or the next morning. Enjoy your evening meal around the campfire before spending your first night in the African wilderness. (LD)

Day 2: Tuli Block - Khama Rhino Sanctuary

Our destination today is the Khama Rhino Sanctuary. The Khama Rhino Sanctuary Trust is a community based wildlife project, established in 1992 to assist in saving the vanishing white rhino, restore an area formerly teeming with wildlife to its previous natural state and provide economic benefits to the local Batswana community through tourism and the sustainable use of natural resources. We explore the sanctuary on an afternoon game drive in search of white rhinos. (BLD)

Day 3: Khama Rhino Sanctuary - Makgadikgadi Pans

Today is a long driving day. We head north to the Magkadigkadi Pans. This area incorporates a multitude of salt pans and vast grass plains dotted by palm islands and forms the Great Makgadikagidi which comprises of the largest area of salt pans in the world. The Nata River delta feeds the Sua Pan in the Nata sanctuary and forms the breeding ground for a host of water birds including flamingos in their thousands. We spend the evening relaxing at our lodge. (BLD)

Day 4: Makgadikgadi Pans - Maun

After breakfast we head off for Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta. The name Maun is derived from the San word “maung”, which means “the place of short reeds”. The afternoon is yours to spend at leisure, either relaxing next to the pool at the lodge or if you are keen for some excitement, why not book a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta. (BLD)

Day 5: Maun - Khwai River

After breakfast we will be picked up by our local Botswana guides and take a short drive to the mokoro station. From here, we will float in dugout canoes through the thick vegetation of the Okavango Delta discovering a variety of birds and wildlife. After this spectacular excursion, we make our way to our camp, which is situated in close proximity to the famous Khwai River. After settling into our camp, we will enjoy dinner and embark on a night game drive. (BLD)

Day 6: Khwai River

Today will be spent in the Khwai area. We will embark on an early morning game drive and in the afternoon we enjoy a sunset game drive, hopefully spotting the variety of animals that frequent the region. Khwai is renowned for its large concentrations of mammals and its exceptional location makes it a regular host to elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dogs. Birdlife is also abundant with exceptional sightings of wildfowl and raptors. (BLD)

Day 7: Khwai River - Moremi Game Reserve

After having explored the Khwai area we now head into the famous Moremi Game Reserve known as one of the most beautiful and varied reserves in Africa with an unprecedented concentration of wildlife. The full day is spent in the unspoiled nature of the Moremi Game Reserve that is home to a great diversity of plant and animal life - making it a ‘must see' for a Botswana Safari. (BLD)

Days 8 & 9: Moremi Game Reserve - Chobe National Park

We have to get up early, as there is another exciting day ahead of us! We leave the camp in Khwai River and transit through the national parks of Moremi, Savuti and Chobe to Kasane. Keep an eye out for the wildlife that calls this area home. The next day is spent with a morning game drive in search of Africa’s Big Five! We enjoy the afternoon on a sunset cruise on the Chobe River. (BL)

Days 10 & 11: Chobe National Park - Victoria Falls

Today we leave Botswana behind us and after a short drive we enter Zimbabwe, home to one of the seven natural wonders of the world, the mighty Victoria Falls. You have the rest of the day at leisure to partake in one of the many activities on offer. The next day we get to view the falls on a guided tour through the Victoria Falls National Park. (BL)

Day 12: Victoria Falls

Your journey ends today and you will be transferred to Victoria Falls Airport in time for your departing flight. (B)
