Cruising on the Oberoi Philae Cruise Ship on the Nile is an experience in luxury and style. Built on five decks, the cruise ship provides 54 deluxe cabins and 4 suites, restaurants and bars, sundeck and pool, gym, hair dresser, library and gift shop.









Day1 Cairo
On arrival at the Cairo airport you will be met and guided through the immigration and customs formalities then transferred to the Mena House Oberoi.


Day 2 Egyptian Museum & Old Cairo
Together with your Egyptologist guide you visit the Egyptian Antiquities Museum, which contains the world’s most spectacular collection of ancient Egyptian treasures. After lunch at a traditional restaurant visit the Citadel of Saladin, which was built at the end of the 12th century AD. This fortress contains the beautiful Mosque of Mohamed Ali and boasts spectacular panoramic views of Cairo. Overnight: Mena House Oberoi. (BL)

Day 3 Cairo-Aswan flight & Nile Cruise
After breakfast transfer to the Cairo airport for the flight to Aswan where you will be met and taken to the luxurious Oberoi Philae Cruise Ship. The afternoon is spent sailing on the Nile in a traditional feluca visiting Lord Kitchener’s Botanical Garden, the Aga Khan Mausoleum and Elephantine Island.

Instead of sailing and sightseeing on the Nile at Aswan for the day you could consider squeezing in something extra:
OPTIONAL TOUR TO ABU SIMBEL
  Board your short flight to Abu Simbel. The two temples of Ramses II at Abu Simbel are colossal statues up to 20 metres high, and are famed as the most impressive monuments remaining of Ancient Egypt in modern times. Recently the temples were threatened by the waters of Lake Nasser, and with the help of a UNESCO campaign they were cut into blocks, raised piece-by-piece, and reassembled in a new position higher up the hillside. Board your flight back to Aswan.

Day 4 Aswan & cruise to Kom Ombo
This morning you visit the Aswan High Dam, Philae Temple and the Granite Quarries, which supplied the ancient Egyptians with most of the stone used to build their monuments and temples. Lunch is served on your cruise ship while sailing to visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile-go Sobek. This evening there will be a traditional Egyptian Costume Party. Day 5 Temple of Horus at Edfu
Today you visit the largest and best preserved Greek-built temple in Egypt, the spectacular Temple of Horus. Lunch is served while you cruise down the Nile, passing through the Esna lock and then on to Luxor. In the evening we will host a Black & White Dress Dinner with music and dancing. Day 6 Valley of the Kings
Visit the West Bank of the Nile to explore the ancient Valley of the Kings. Here, magnificent tombs were carved into the desert rocks, richly decorated, and filled with treasures by generations of Pharaohs. A highlight is Queen Hatshepsut's Temple, which rises out of the desert in a series of terraces that merge with the surrounding limestone cliffs. On the way back you pass the huge Colossi of Memnon. Day 7 Luxor Temple & Karnak Temple
Today you explore the East Bank of the Nile with your Egyptologist guide, starting with the graceful Temple of Luxor. Then visit the huge temple complex of Karnak, which was built over a period of more than a thousand years.

Day 8 Temple of Hathor at Dendara
Visit the wonderfully preserved temple of Hathor built at the end of the Pharaonic period. The temple's main building is almost intact, with a great stone roof and columns, dark chambers, underground crypts and stairways all carved with hieroglyphics. In the afternoon sail back to Luxor. Day 9 Luxor-Cairo flight
Disembark after breakfast and transfer to Luxor airport for your flight to Cairo, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight: Mena House Oberoi. (B) Click for city optional tours

Day 10 Pyramids, Memphis & Sakkara
Your Egyptologist guide will accompany you on a full day program which starts with the Pyramids of Giza, and the inscrutable Sphinx. After lunch at a traditional restaurant visit Memphis, which was Egypt’s capital city throughout the Old Kingdom. You also visit the royal burial ground at Sakkara and the Step Pyramid, the oldest pyramid in the world. Overnight: Mena House Oberoi. (BLD)

Day 11 Cairo
After breakfast you will be transferred to the Cairo airport for your flight home. (B)

The Mena House Oberoi
