The Nile and Egypt

The climate is hot and dry with very little rain and low humidity. The temperature increases as you travel from the north (Lower Egypt) to the south (Upper Egypt). During the summer months between May and October the temperatures can reach 45 degrees in Upper Egypt, and 35 in Lower Egypt. The winter months of November through to March are between 20-25 degrees in the north and 5-10 degrees warmer in the south. The heat is less taxing than in Australia due to the low level of humidity.
