DAY 1- CAIRO
On arrival into Cairo airport you will be met and guided
through the immigration and customs formalities then
transferred to the hotel Overnight : Mena House Oberoi.
DAY 2 - EGYPTIAN MUSEUM & OLD CAIRO
After breakfast your Egyptologist guide takes you to
visit the Egyptian Museum, which contains the world’s
most spectacular collection of ancient Egyptian
treasures. After lunch at a traditional restaurant,
visit the Citadel of Saladin, which was built at the end
of the 12th century AD. This fortress contains the
beautiful Mosque of Mohamed Ali and boasts spectacular
panoramic views of Cairo. Overnight: Mena House Oberoi

DAY 3 - CAIRO TO ASWAN
Transfer to Cairo airport for your flight to Aswan where
you board the luxurious 5 star Oberoi Philae Cruise Ship. The
afternoon is spent sailing on the Nile visiting Lord
Kitchener’s Botanical Garden, the Aga Khan Mausoleum and
Elephantine Island. After dinner there will be a show of

Instead
of sailing and sightseeing on the Nile at Aswan for the
day you could consider squeezing in something
extra:
OPTIONAL TOUR TO ABU SIMBEL
Board your short flight to Abu Simbel. The two temples
of Ramses II at Abu Simbel are colossal statues up to 20
metres high, and are famed as the most impressive
monuments remaining of Ancient Egypt in modern times.
Recently the temples were threatened by the waters of
Lake Nasser, and with the help of a UNESCO campaign they
were cut into blocks, raised piece-by-piece, and
reassembled in a new position higher up the hillside.
Board your flight back to Aswan.

DAY 4 - ASWAN TO KOM OMBO
This morning you visit the Aswan High Dam,
Philae Temple and the Granite Quarries, which supplied
the ancient Egyptians with most of the stone used to
build their monuments and temples.

Lunch is served on your cruise ship while sailing to
visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the
crocodile-god Sobek. Overnight: Cruise Ship (BLD)
DAY 5 - TEMPLE OF HORUS AT EDFU

Today you visit the largest and best preserved
Greek-built temple in Egypt, the spectacular Temple of
Horus. Lunch is served while you cruise down the Nile,
passing through the Esna lock and then on to Luxor. This
evening there will be a traditional Egyptian Costume

DAY 6 - VALLEY OF THE KINGS & LUXOR TEMPLES



Visit the West Bank of the Nile to explore the ancient
Valley of the Kings. Here, magnificent tombs were carved
into the desert rock, richly decorated, and filled with
treasures by generations of Pharaohs. A highlight is
Queen Hatshepsut's Temple, which rises out of the desert
in a series of terraces that merge with the surrounding
limestone cliffs. On the way back you pass the huge
Colossi of Memnon. After lunch explore the East Bank of
the Nile with your Egyptologist guide, starting with the
graceful Temple of Luxor. Then visit the huge temple
complex of Karnak, built over a period of more than a
thousand years. Overnight: Cruise Ship (BLD)
DAY 7- LUXOR TO CAIRO
Disembark after breakfast and transfer to Luxor airport
for your flight to Cairo, where you will be met and
transferred to your hotel. The rest of your day is at
your leisure. Overnight: Mena House Oberoi (B)
DAY 8 - PYRAMIDS, MEMPHIS & SAKKARA
Your Egyptologist guide will accompany you on a full day
program which starts with thePyramids of Giza and the
inscrutable Sphinx. After lunch visit Memphis, Egypt’s
capitalcity throughout the Old Kingdom. You also visit
the royal burial ground at Sakkara and the Step Pyramid,
the oldest pyramid in the world. Overnight: Mena House

DAY 9 - CAIRO
After breakfast transfer to Cairo airport for your
departing flight (B)
