Transfer by light aircraft from Maun Airport to Saile
airstrip. Flying time approx 60 minutes
Day 1 - 4
Accommodation for 3 nights in a spacious tent with
comfortable beds and en-suite private bathroom
facilities on a full board basis including all
activities.
Distance walked each day will vary depending on the
capabilities of the group and what their interests are
with many stops for water, picnic breakfasts, lunches
and many interesting sightings along the way. Each day
the camp may move, dependent on where the wildlife
action is. This is an adventure safari for those that
seek to explore the wild and remote wilderness area on
foot. Close-up safe encounters on foot with elephant,
buffalo and lion are not uncommon in the hands of the
best professional guides whose first passion is to
interpret and bring to life every aspect of the bush.
Day 4
Arrive at Linyanti Bush Camp. Linyanti Bush Camp is a
small, intimate, tented camp situated on the banks of
the Linyanti floodplain. The surrounding area is best
known for the large herds of elephant and buffalo which
congregate along the banks of the Linyanti river during
the dry winter months. Birding is spectacular and on
twice daily game drives guests may be lucky enough to
see lion, sable, roan, leopard, wild dog, and a variety
of the plains game. Other camp activities include
walking with a professional guide, spotlite night drives
and game viewing from a hide
Day 4 - 6
Accommodation for 2 nights at Linyanti Bush Camp in a
twin tent with en suite facilities on a full board basis
including scheduled game viewing activities, local brand
drinks and park fees. Game drives are conducted in
custom built open 4X4 Land Cruisers. Each vehicle is
canopied, seats up to 7 guests and is fitted with padded
individual bucket seats.
Day 6
Transfer by light aircraft from Saile airstrip to Maun
Airport. Flying time approx 60 minutes
THE OKAVANGO
DELTA:
The Delta is the largest inland delta system in
the world and is a maze of lagoons and islands
covering some 15,000 square kilometres. It is
also home to an abundance of wildlife making it
a most popular tourist attraction. Accommodation
is mainly in large permanent tents with en suite
facilities with camps sleeping around twelve to
sixteen persons.
LINYANTI
WILDLIFE RESERVE:
The Linyanti Wildlife Reserve consists of
125,000 hectares of pristine wildlife area. It
is bordered by the Linyanti River in the north
and the Chobe National Park in the east. Across
the Linyanti River northwards lies Namibia's
Caprivi strip. Two thirds of the Savuti channel
is situated within the reserve. This area is
very different from the Okavango Delta and
should be included in every Botswana itinerary.
This private reserve is enormous and in one of
the most remote and inaccessible parts of
Botswana. The region is one of the least visited
and most pristine corners of Botswana and the
concession owners intend to keep it this way.
The Linyanti region is shared between a very
small number of private camps, ensuring that
guests are able to view the abundant wildlife
privately and exclusively.
