GOLD REEF CITY
A former working gold mine, Gold Reef City is now a popular theme park, where one can now absorb the atmosphere of the early 1900's while learning the history of the mineral that built Johannesburg. Walk through the original homes of the miners and mine bosses, watch a gold bar being poured and then descend into the depths of a real gold mine.
PRETORIA AND CHEETAH BREEDING CENTRE
There is an early departure to the Cheetah Breeding Centre at de Wildt. This research centre was founded in 1971 with the express purpose of saving the Cheetah - what was then an endangered species. It has now grown to include breeding of wild dogs, brown hyena, riverine rabbit, blue duiker and cape vulture. Afterwards enjoy lunch at a Pretoria restaurant followed by a tour of the nation's capital. Visit the Union Buildings which house the State President's office, Church Square, the Civic Theatre complex, the Voortrekker Monument, the diplomatic suburbs and the University before returning to your hotel.
LESEDI CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
Depart the city and travel to nearby Lesedi Cultural Village where guests can share the excitement and warmth of true rural African culture. A guided tour of the village with its four homesteads - Zulu, Xhosa, Basotho and Pedi, each with their own unique culture is included.
