Kanana

Kanana encompasses a necklace of islands on the Xudum River in the more remote reaches of the Okavango Delta. It is an exciting and beautiful area particularly on the islands explored during your stay. Accommodation is in traditional deluxe tents with ensuite facilities, raised on decking offering views onto the floodplains. The dining and sitting areas are also raised on decking and encircle a massive ancient fig tree, which is the focal point of the camp's public area. This idyllic setting makes for exciting game walks and also offers some of the best areas in the Delta for exploring by mokoro (traditional canoe) and by motorboat when the water levels are high. Boating is an ideal way to sample the varied bird life with particular reference to the breeding heronry situated within the concession, one of the most active breeding heronries in the southern hemisphere (breeding occurs in spring/summer months). In addition, you can also explore the area on game drives and night drives year round.

Day 1 - Maun/South Western Okavango Delta

On arrival in Maun you will be met and transferred by light aircraft to Kanana. Overnight at Kanana. (LD)

Day 2/3 - South Western Okavango Delta

Okuti

This delightful riverside camp lies within the world renowned Moremi Game Reserve. Offering a welcome touch of comfort, in one of Botswana's prime game viewing regions, Okuti accommodates a maximum of 18 guests, in thatched chalets each with ensuite bathroom. Experience game drives in the Moremi Game Reserve in specially designed safari vehicles. Moremi is a park rich in wildlife and game viewing is consistent year round so it is ideal for the first time visitor to Botswana. In addition to game drives you can explore the Delta waterways by motorboat - from open lagoons to winding channels it is a birder's paradise, especially for herons and storks in the breeding season.

Day 4 - South Western Okavango Delta/Moremi Game Reserve

This morning transfer by light aircraft to the Moremi Game Reserve. Overnight at Okuti. (BLD)

Day 5/6 - Moremi Game Reserve

Morning and afternoon game activities. Overnight at Okuti. (BLD)

Day 7 - Moremi Game Reserve/Maun

Light aircraft transfer to Maun. (B)
