Enjoy the highlights of the Kalahari Desert, Fish River Canyon, Luderitz and the Sossusvlei, coastal diversity of Swakopmund, together with the attractions of scenic Damaraland and the wildlife of Etosha National Park.
DAY 1 - WINDHOEK - KALAHARI DESERT
This morning depart Windhoek and travel into the largest sand mass on earth. The Kalahari Desert is referred to by the bushman as the 'Soul of the World'. Overnight at Kalahari Anib Lodge. (D)
DAY 2 - FISH RIVER CANYON
Travel south through expansive rocky plains visiting the Quiver Tree Forest. On arrival at the lodge enjoy a pleasant walk to enjoy the sunset and a cool drink. Overnight at Canon Village. (B)
DAY 3 - LUDERITZ
The morning starts on the edge of the Fish River Canyon, the second largest in the world. Travel down the Great Escarpment to the plains of the Namib Desert, giving way to the shifting dunes. Here visit the Diaz Cross before a tour of Luderitz to end the day. Overnight at Hotel Zum Sperrgebiet. (B)
DAY 4 - NAMIB DESERT
This morning the ghost town of Kolmanskop conjures up the days of the opulence and decadence of the diamond rush. Travel through to the lodge in the Namib Desert, and Sesriem Canyon the gateway to the Sossusvlei, where some of the highest dunes on earth stand. Overnight at Hammerstein Lodge. (B)
DAY 5 - NAMIB DESERT
Start early morning to capture this awesome landscape and walk in the dunes, followed by a visit to the Sesriem Canyon, a natural phenomenon in the heart of the Namib Desert. Overnight at Namib Desert Lodge. (B)
DAY 6 - SWAKOPMUND
This morning travel through the Gaub and Kuiseb Canyons enroute to the quaint town of Swakopmund. During the afternoon visit the valley of the Swakop River and the Welwitschia Plains, aptly named the Moonlandscape. This evening is free to enjoy dinner at one of the many acclaimed restaurants that Swakopmund has to offer. Overnight at Europa Hof Hotel. (B)
DAY 7 - SWAKOPMUND
Today enjoy the many optional leisure activities on offer, such as dolphin cruises, desert tours, scenic flights, quad-biking, parachuting or paragliding. Overnight at Europa Hof Hotel. (B)
DAY 8 - DAMARALAND
Travel northwards following the coastal road to Cape Cross, a fur seal reserve where at times over 80,000 animals frolic in the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Drive via the Brandberg, Namibia's highest mountain into the Damaraland with its rugged landscapes and sparse population, home to the rare Desert Elephant and Black Rhino. Overnight at Twyfelfontein Country Lodge. (B)
DAY 9 - ETOSHA REGION
Start the day with a visit to Twyfelfontein, a heritage site where bushman communities engraved and painted here some 6000 years ago. Visit the Organ Pipes, Burnt Mountain and the Petrified Forest, all geographical phenomena. Continue on to the lodge near Etosha National Park. Overnight at Etosha Safari Camp. (B)
DAY 10 - ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
Spend a full day of game viewing in a truly unique wilderness. The park surrounds a parched salt desert known as the Etosha Pan, and is home to elephant, lion, leopard and rhino, as well as a rich diversity of mammals and birds. Overnight at Etosha Safari Camp. (B)
DAY 11 - ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
Spend another day in the park, travelling from west to east, exploring the waterholes for game. Overnight at Ghaub Guest Farm. (B)
DAY 12 - WINDHOEK
Head south to Namibia's mining centre and Lake Otjikoto. Continue through Okahandja with a stop at the African Craft Market, arriving into Windhoek late afternoon where the tour ends. (B)
