The World's Most Luxurious Train

The three beautifully rebuilt Classic trains each carry a maximum of 72 passengers who are accommodated in the most spacious train suites in the world. With fine wood panelling, period Edwardian features as well as every modern convenience and comfort, the air-conditioned suites accommodate two people offering the option of either twin or double beds.

The Royal Suites each have their own private lounge area and feature a full ensuite bathroom with shower and Victorian bath.The Deluxe Suites each have a lounge area and private bathroom with shower. A third level of accommodation is the Pullman Suite, and while it includes the identical bathroom to that of the deluxe suites, the bedroom is smaller with bunks for twin requirements or a double bed for couples. During the day this can be converted into a comfortable couch.

This special 3-day adventure begins at Rovos Rail's gracious station in Pretoria, departing in the morning and slowly meandering westwards through Mafikeng into Botswana. Travelling across the border into Zimbabwe, the train continues in a north-westerly direction passing Bulawayo and heading towards Hwange Game Reserve. Your journey's end is the incomparable Victoria Falls on the mighty Zambezi River.

ROYAL

CAPE TOWN TO DAR ES SALAAM OR VV

This 14 day journey is one of the most famous train trips in the world taking you through South Africa with short tours of the diamond town of Kimberley and the capital city of Pretoria. You will then have a two-night stay in a private game lodge in the famous Kruger Park before crossing into Zimbabwe with a night at Victoria Falls Hotel. After crossing the Zambezi River you will travel north eastwards through Zambia and continue the climb towards the Zambian/Tanzanian border, almost the midpoint between Africa's two Great Rift Valley lakes. On the last day the train passes through Selous Game Reserve (Tanzania), the largest in Africa before arriving in the bustle of Dar es Salaam.
