Garden Route - Cape Town to Port Elizabeth

Join us on a journey through South Africa's "Garden of Eden", and experience all the flavours, tastes, and sights and sounds of South Africa's premier tourist destination. With pristine beaches, mountains, forests, lakes & rivers, the Garden Route is a stunning holiday destination, a place to restore your soul and revitalise your body and mind. A combination of sandy beaches, picturesque lagoons, lush green forests and majestic mountain ranges, this scenic jewel is wedged between the mountains and the sea.

DAY 1 - Oudtshoorn

Depart Cape Town and travel along the N1, through the Huguenot Tunnel and onto Route 62, the tourist route in the Western Cape. Enjoy a lunch stop (not included in cost) in Barrydale then continue onto Oudtshoorn where your first stop will be at an Ostrich Farm, for an informative tour. Dinner and overnight in Oudtshoorn. Overnight at the Hlangana Lodge/Queens Hotel or similar. (D)

DAY 2 - Knynsa

Enjoy a morning tour of the Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn before departing for Knysna. You can enjoy lunch (not included in cost) at the Knysna Waterfront. Dinner and overnight accommodation near Knysna. Overnight at Laird's Lodge or similar. (BD)

DAY 3 - Knynsa

Get up-close-and-personal with nature at the Knysna Elephant Park. With the help of our resident African elephants and our well-informed guides, you will learn about the sad and mystical story of the Knysna Elephants - the world's Southern most elephants. After lunch (not included in cost), there is the option to travel to Plettenberg Bay for a Whale and Dolphin experience with a visit to Birds of Eden (not included in cost) along the way. Dinner and overnight accommodation near Knysna. Overnight at Laird's Lodge or similar. (BD)

DAY 4 - Port Elizabeth

Early morning takes you to the beautiful Tsitsikamma National Park. Tsitsikamma originates from the Khoi-Khoi language used by the local Inqwa Tribe that lived in the area some 1700 years ago meaning "a place of many/sparkling/abundant water". Enjoy lunch (not included in cost) in the Tsitsikamma National Park, and the tour finishes in Port Elizabeth. (B)
